Group Classes - Yoga for Wellness

A gentle, mindful ONLINE mat-based somatic practice that is ideal for those who have some experience with yoga, who are able to get down onto and up off the mat during class and who have been cleared by their health care provider to do so.


Tuesday evenings.      7:00 pm.    Jan 7th - Feb 25th, 2025

                                       7:00 pm.    Mar 4th - Apr 29th, 2025

                                       7:00pm.     May 6th - Jun 24th, 2025

                                       7:00pm.     July 9th - Jul 29th, 2025

These gentle Pain Care Aware-informed classes are about 75 minutes in length.  They include an alignment-based, breath-centred, hatha yoga practice, where many variations to poses are taught to make the class accessible for different body types and abilities.  All classes include a brief yogic teaching, seated centring, pranayama (breath practice), and will end with a guided relaxation/savasana and/or a short meditation practice.

Meditation and Breathwork

Explore and experience the powerful and healing effects of various breathing and meditation techniques.  Ideal for persons who wish to learn skills that will enable them to increase their sense of calm and peace of mind.

ONLINE or in person classes are 50 minutes in length and will include a breathing technique and a meditation followed by a short discussion.  Ideal for beginners as well as those who have experience with meditation and breath-work practices.

Individual Pain Care Aware Yoga Classes

Pain Care Yoga classes are scheduled on an individual basis and include: 

 

  1. An initial assessment,
  2. pain education, (recommended, but based on client's needs), and
  3. targeted, individualized Pain Care Aware-informed and trauma sensitive yoga practices that include:  breathing and meditation practices, as well as gentle movement practices (if and when desired), which are performed while seated on a chair, standing or lying on a mat, according to the client's individual needs.
